Brook Farm Cottages can be found in the tiny hamlet of Brook in the picturesque Test Valley an area known for its beauty world famous for trout fishing and teeming with quaint villages thatched cottages and traditional pubs and restaurants serving the delicious local Hampshire fare.

Tranquil and relaxing their south facing balconies overlooking the Test Valley the cottages offer an ideal base for exploring the myriad of nearby attractions including the adjoining Test Way a 44 mile walk that has been divided into eight sections running from the dramatic chalk downs at Inkpen following much of the course of the River Test to Eling where the river flows into Southampton waters.

Rain or shine there is always something to do here. Just 5 miles to the south lies the bustling medieval market town of Romsey with its beautiful abbey quaint shops pubs and restaurants. And history lovers are spoilt for choice in this fascinating locality: the home of the late Lord Louis Mountbatten the picturesque village of Stockbridge which dates back to 1141 and Mottisfont Abbey once the property of William the Conqueror and now famous for its superb walled rose garden are among the attractions within a short drive as are the lovely cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester. The many delights of the New Forest National Park are also easily accessible.

In a secluded setting on the edge of the New Forest this charming and very comfortable 17th century cottage began life as two detached railway cottages. Now one very spacious family home with over an acre of private gardens incorporating woodland a pond secure stream and children's play equipment Butler's Wood is a tranquil environment from which to enjoy a beautiful setting for an unforgettable family holiday.

The bustling market town of Romsey is a short drive away whilst a little further afield are Salisbury and Winchester with their glorious cathedrals; Beaulieu's motor museum and Lymington for the Isle of Wight. Riding golf world-famous fishing and superb walks on the Test Valley path are available locally.

Set in the grounds of the 400 year old Compasses Inn which offers a warm welcome and very good food both cottages share the inns's lovely gardens overlooking the cricket green and surrounding countryside. The River Allen is just 100 yards away. Salisbury Plain Cranborne Chase and the Forest afford excellent walking and Wilton House Kingston Lacy (N.T.) Poole Bournemouth and excellent shopping in Southampton are all easily accessible. Shop 1 mile.
