The popular seaside town of Eastbourne is 4 miles; Hastings and Rye are a little further afield and day trips from Newhaven to Le Havre and Dieppe are also available. The cottages and barn are within a short stroll of the widely acclaimed Hungry Monk restaurant (birthplace of Bannoffi Pie) as well as lovely tea rooms for afternoon treats and the excellent local inn. Amidst lovely Sussex countryside rolling down to the coast at Hastings just 3 miles away this attractive oast house on a working farm has been carefully converted into the three charming cottages one of which we offer here. With their compact and comfortable accommodation all on one level they enjoy a courtyard setting in relaxing surroundings with lovely walks close by. The Cinque Port of Rye with its cobbled streets and interesting shops is only 10 miles away. Hastings offers a modern pier beach (pictured) a promenade local history museum and a sea life centre as well as excellent town amenities. The nearest shops and pubs serving food are in the village of Westfield just 1 mile from The Oast.

Attached to the owner's home they enjoy a peaceful setting with miles of wonderful walks from the door yet is only minutes from the beach and buzz of the town. Rye with its antique shops and restaurants Battle castles at Pevensey and Bodiam Eastbourne and Brighton – all within easy reach. Sailing riding and golf close by. Shop and pub ½ mile.

Set close to the owner's home it makes a delightful base from which to explore the many attractions of East Sussex. The nearby wetlands offer wonderful birdwatching and myriad footpaths afford lovely country walks. With its cobbled streets and beautifully preserved medieval Tudor and Georgian houses Rye is a delightful town seemingly almost untouched by time and where visitors will find numerous interesting shops and eating places. Set on a private road just 200 yards from the coast in Fairlight in an area of outstanding natural beauty in East Sussex this vast American style single storey property makes a wonderful base for relaxing breaks and family holidays.
