Barmore Farm sits on the beautiful Kintyre peninsula 2 miles north of picturesque Tarbert harbour which hosts the Scottish sailing regatta in May. Local restaurants feature Loch Fyne seafood there are lovely beaches and coves close by and walkers can follow the Kintyre Way. Red squirrels deer sea eagles buzzards otters and beavers can be spotted locally and activities enjoyed nearby include windsurfing horse riding mountain biking clay pigeon shooting and championship golf. The isles of Arran Islay and Gigha are easily accessible. Shops and pubs 2 miles.

A bustling fishing village Tarbert also offers boat trips to Jura Gigha Islay and Arran whilst opportunities for sea fishing and riding in the lovely surrounding countryside are available locally. There is golf too with the 18 hole championship links course at Machrihanish just a short drive away and four other courses close by.

The glorious landscape of the Kintyre Peninsula holds a rich variety of attractions with excellent hill walking and beautiful forest scenery. At Lochgilphead (15 miles) Kilmory Castle displays its world famous rhododendrons in its lovely gardens. A little further on Dunadd hill fort and Kilmartin Glen's wealth of standing stones are steeped in history

In a rural location just 3½ miles from Campbeltown this cosy cottage is ideally located for enjoying the unspoilt countryside and glorious beaches of the Kintyre peninsula. Thanks to the warming Gulf Stream palm trees grow easily here and just 1 mile away Westport's fine sandy beach is popular with windsurfers. Set on the owners' working farm Langa Cottage also lies within a short drive of world class golf at Machrihanish on the shores of the Atlantic and walking on the Kintyre Way from Tarbert to Southend is close by. Visitors can enjoy a tour and a 'wee dram' at the whisky distillery at Springbank and the Linda McCartney Memorial Garden is nearby. One of a row set in the peaceful hamlet of Cairnbaan in a corner of Argyll famed for its stunning scenery it lies just 3 miles from Lochgilphead. The rugged coastline affords endless opportunities to enjoy fishing and birdwatching or sample the delicious local seafood in one of the pretty villages nearby and at Kilmartin Glen (8 miles) visitors will find standing stones stone circles and castles – fascinating evidence of the 5000 year old Ancient Kingdom of the Scots.
