This lovely family house on the edge of the famous Victorian village of Ballater offers spacious and very comfortable accommodation with a wealth of period features in its principal rooms and from its small widows' tower room there are spectacular hill views. Sharing a driveway with the Gig House which is at the rear of the large walled natural garden it is an easy walk to the many excellent restaurants pubs and Royal appointed shops with some interesting art galleries and antique shops to explore.

Set in the heart of Royal Deeside Glenbardie is an excellent base for touring the beautiful Cairngorm National Park area with its designated nature reserves supporting a fascinating mixture of both flora and fauna and its wonderful opportunities for outdoor activities at all times of year. Golf loch and river fishing cycling walking riding and skiing (in season) are all available locally. Balmoral Castle (8 miles) is open to the public from March to July and the Castle Whisky and Heritage Trails all make great days out as do the various towns' Highland Games in summer.

Perched by the sea wall only yards from a beautiful sandy beach this romantic retreat (shown right with red roof) enjoys glorious sea views with magnificent sunsets as well as sightings of bottlenose dolphins. Comfortably furnished in a stylish nautical fashion it is ideally situated for walking and bird watching on the clifftops and coastal paths and for exploring the picturesque villages along this lovely coastline RSPB reserve Trouphead 1 mile famous for nesting gannets – Pennan (5 miles) was the location for Local Hero. Lovingly refurbished by the owners who live close by it is ideally located for discovering the myriad delights of Grampian. Within easy reach of distilleries turreted castles and lovely gardens to explore as well as testing golf courses and a scenic coastal trail to follow (sandy beach 15 miles). Huntly is 7 miles. Nearest shops and pubs are at Keith (4 miles).
